Increadible amount of 'Chariot of the Gods' crap cut...
Absolute hogwash. The nose of the Sphinx was shot off by a group of British soldiers with too much time (and alcohol) on their hands, late 1800's if I recall correctly.

I've heard this frequently myself. It turns out not to be true. Norden's 1755 drawings show it clearly broken. Lehner's book The Complete Pyramids describes on page 41 how the nose was broken

Quite a tricky maneuver accomplished from one of the early Montgolfier balloons. You can certainly give them credit for knowledge of the winds. Imagine maintaining altitude and, at the same time, positioning the craft to apply sufficient leverage to the pry rods.
