I'm the latest and youngest Balloon Pilot in Ireland. I'm also a licensed radio ham and was wondering are tyhere any other Ballonists that are also involved in Ham Radio ?

Hi Aidan!

I am a balloonist (since 1985) and also a Ham (since 1990.) My call is N7TUP, though if it goes through its in the process of getting changed to N7HAB. I don't have any reason to think it won't get changed, just waiting for the feds to get it done.

How old are you or were you when you got your license? I was 14 for my student and 16 for private.

I will have to look and see if there are any IRLP nodes out your way. Where in Ireland are you? If you go to http://www.ipass.net/~jimprice/irlp/eumap.html you will see that there are IRLP nodes in Scotland and northern England.. I don't know the geography over there very well, any chance you might be able to get into any of them?? If you could we could QSO over IRLP..

Shoot me an email when you get a chance.. I am going to TRY and fly here tomorrow (30 percent chance of rain) so we will see what happens.
