I have in my posession a blueprint of the USS AKRON airship. This item is labled GENERAL ARRANGEMENT. I am interested in any information concerning the value and significance of this item. The item measures roughly 3ft. wide by 9 feet long and shows structural diagrams of this airship. It is stamped by the GOODYEAR ZEPPLIN CORPORATION and is dated, what I believe is 1932. Please contact me if you have any information or advice on this item.

Thank you

As regards advice, I would suggest that the US Naval viation Museum at Pensacola might be interested in giving it a home - they have a display relating to the Akron.

Otherwise the museum in Hangar 1 at Moffett Field in Sunnyvale, CA is another choice.

I know this is a bit old, but are you interested in selling this? And if so, for what cost? If you are interested in selling it, I would be interested in buying it, depending on what it is exactly. If interested, could you take a picture of it and send it my way so I can see if it is an adequate GA draft?

The General Arrangement draft is actually not the exact plan, and it may or may not have changed plans during construction, but overall I would enjoy a GA draft for my research: I study dirigibles/air-ships in my "spare time".

I have a direct copy from the goodyear hangar.
As the hangar was becomming a Machine shop for goverment airplane parts the offices were being tore down and rebuild in new locations.
Behind 1 particular wall was found bluebrints of the USS Akron.
A copy was made of the cover page for me by a maintence person working there at the time.
Would anyone know if it might be worth anything at all. It has been laminated by the person that copied it for me.
Please send me any input on this please.
