I have recently taken an interest in constructing and flying fire balloons, that being your run-of-the-mill garbage bags taped together with an engine made up of straws or balsa wood and birthday candles. I've had fun flying them, as for such a simple construction one can get almost twenty minutes of flying time, but I've heard of a larger long-life version fueled by church candles that can go for up to two hours. It's briefly described on part of the overflite.com website, but I haven't been able to find anything about it anywhere else on the internet. Thus, I've come here looking for anyone who might know anything about it or be able to refer me to something. Now, I'm assuming that if it's to be powered by church candles, the balloon part has to be rather huge and that an H-frame made of balsa wood is the best choice? I use cheap .35 mil garbage bags and sort of fuse the edges together with a hot pizza cutter. I'm also wondering if there's a certain type of church candle that works the best and whether or not I should be aiming to make the final balloon a certain shape. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks, Mitch
