I left home on 2 October for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta expecting when I got back yesterday I would find this forum overflowing with chatter about ballooning caused by that event. Not one message on anything for the whole period. I think this newsgroup is dead.
Long live Dave Temple's balloon reflector!

Guess most everybody was in ABQ. Unfortunately, we weren't able to make it this year. What a disappointment! Next year we'll try again.

After crewing there for three straight years, maybe we were due for a break. We had planned on being there but circumstances prevented it and we are on the Oregon coast instead. At least we got to crew at the Rogue Valley Balloon Rally again (our 8th time there) this summer in Medford, OR. Crewing for the Energizer Bunny at ABQ last year was a total blast! There always seem to be pilots in need of crew. Our first year crewing in ABQ was somewhat spoiled by the pilot because he tended to treat his crew like trash and they kept leaving. Then on the last day we showed up but he didn't. Our second year was great! We crewed for Bill Chapel (Smokey Bear) and he was totally different. Gary (Bunny) was great too.
