Hello I work for a theater, and for a project I need to locate a very large (6 ft diameter) metal hoop. I believe that hot air balloons have large hoops inside them but I'm not having a lot of luck finding them for sale. Any info about these hoops (if they are called something else, what they are made of, etc.) would be much appreciated thanks

You're kidding us, right?

Whatever gave you the idea that hot-air balloons contain hoops? If you want to use hoops to form a static balloon I suggest you go to a hardware or home store that sells the aluminum shapes for construction projects. I have, in the past, bought several different sizes of both strips and right angle forms in 72' and 96' lengths.

Tex

Yes, balloons have metal hoops in the skirt. It's made of spring steel. You might find at a hardware store or through a machine shop or industrial supply. Or, buy one of those large sewer snakes which you can probably find at your local home supply.

Cheers,
